The tower is cold, the machines are silent, and the swamps around are full of slimes and wandering lights. Light the cauldron again, help the villagers, follow the master’s notes from the Graveyard to the Amber Diggings and up to the Highland — and learn what he was looking for, and what he locked away behind the door of his Vault. ## Combat and the hero - **Steer, stop, throw.** Tap where to go — the apprentice runs there. Stand still, and flasks fly at the nearest enemy one by one. Short sorties of a few minutes that fit any pause. - **A flask that fights for you.** The familiar flask circles you and strikes while you run: a spark, a ward, a bomb or a mending flask. Feed it from the bandolier and it becomes a real fighter. - **Six builds, one apprentice.** Grenadier, Sniper, Flask lord, Juggler, Elementalist, Brewer. Pick a principle at every rank, set a cauldron turret or flask mines, and let fire meet frost: Steam, Fume, Shatter and Sparks. - **Gear worth finding.** Four rarities, rolled properties and aspects. Legendary finds glow orange on the ground. Sharpen your favourite to +10 in the Workshop — the very best is made in the tower. - **Sigils and the Bestiary.** Every monster you put down may leave its sigil. Set sigils into your gear and fill the book of the dead, kind by kind. - **Familiars.** The Firebird, the Purrcat, the Wisp, the Raven and five more. One flies with you on every sortie, each with its own nature and gift — and at level 10 it blooms. - **From Apprentice to Archmage.** Grow to level 40, pass the rank trials — Adept, Master, Magister, Archmage — and open new skills, nodes and sharpening with each. - **Light, fog and sound.** Fireflies over the swamp, mist on the lake, a dark mine lit by your own flasks. The village sky follows your local time of day, and every flask breaks with its own sound. ## The tower (idle production) Cauldrons, furnaces, mills, a loom and an anvil brew and forge for hours even when the game is closed. Restore floor after floor, keep the furnaces warm, place machines side by side — then come back, collect and load them up again. - **Golems carry the work.** Mould golems at the moulding table and send them on a route: from one machine to the next, or into the storage. Each tier is moulded from the one below and carries more, walks faster and learns something new. The tiers: Clay golem (one floor, four at a time); Stone golem (carries one kind only); Bronze golem (climbs to other floors); Quicksilver golem (a round of four stops). The moulding table opens at hero level 9. - **Production lines.** Chain three or four machines into a line that makes the master materials. They make masterworks, catalysts for legendary gear and sharpening to +10 — and at the very end the Philosopher’s engine turns them into the philosopher’s stone. Master materials: Star steel, Moon cloth, Quintessence, Prism. - **Purity and heat.** Every good has a purity from 1 to 5, and the weakest link of a chain sets the gear it makes. - **Blueprints and guests.** Keep a floor’s layout as a blueprint, share it by a link, and visit your friends’ towers. ## The world Each region is a persistent map with its own monsters, camps, wardens and patrols. Farm freely, leave any time, come back stronger. Rifts and the village siege bring the waves; bosses telegraph their blows — watch the floor. Regions: - The Swamps - The Graveyard - The Forest - The Quiet Lake - The Amber Diggings - The Burnt Place - The Highland Bosses include: Necromancer, Fog Maiden, Amber Heart, Stone Giant. **The master’s Vault.** Behind the Stone Giant stands a door of the master’s own: seven rooms, a key, traps and treasure, your bag and wounds carried from room to room — and something unfinished waiting at the end. Make your choice: the story has two endings. After an ending the world goes a step deeper: every region eight levels higher, the hero grows to 48. ## The village Thirteen villagers with their own troubles: a cursed amulet, the miller’s grandfather, a page torn from a rival apprentice’s book, the hunter’s cub. Help them, earn their trust, trade at Lira’s cart — and their letters will keep coming. Villagers: Anna (the headwoman), Maria (the herbalist), Oscar (the smith), Joseph (the miller), Niklas (the sexton), Helena (the beekeeper), Tobias (the hunter), Madame Agatha (the master’s colleague), Marco (the western tower’s apprentice), Erik (the ranger of the pass), Sophie (the headwoman’s daughter), Viola (the fisher of the quiet lake), Lira (the wandering merchant). - **The notice board.** Three villagers’ notices a day, from an easy errand to a goal of your own, and a chest for every day you come. - **The Book of deeds.** Fifty-five deeds in eight sections, a few of them secret riddles. Glory brings titles and looks no shop can sell. - **Seasons.** Five weeks, thirty levels, points from the notices you take. A free track for everyone. ## FAQ ### Is Alchemist’s Apprentice free?
